The idea behind the VW T6.1 Power Latching feature is pretty simple: why slam the doors relay hard when the car can do all hard work for you while keeping the noise down to a minimum. Most of us will have been there, where you need to get out of the van in the middle of the night and you need to close the sliding door but it always needs a slam to get it to close properly, then you have words with your partner/mate or neighbour the following morning. We won't mention waking a baby in the middle of the night here 😉
