With the help of radar sensors at rear of the van, which monitor the space behind it, side assist is able to ascertain the traffic situation. If there is a vehicle in a critical zone, you will be warned by the flashing amber LED lamps fitted to side mirrors.

The radar sensors fitted at the rear of the van also help when reversing out of a parking space,  (only in conjunction with rear parking aid )  if there's an approaching vehicle detected the system gives an acoustic and visual warning in the multimedia system, Please watch the video below it explains how both systems work!
