VW Transporter Sportline T6.1 Heated Steering Wheel Upgrade!
Ever wished your hands stayed warm on cold winter drives? A heated steering wheel makes all the difference! This VW Transporter Sportline T6.1 came to us from Redditch with a Mk8 Golf DSG steering wheel already fitted, but there was a problem—the heating function and DSG buttons weren’t working.
Challenge Accepted! 💪
The wiring was extensive and challenging, and as expected, the required parts weren’t cheap. But we got stuck in, added the necessary components, and made sure everything worked seamlessly.
Now, the heated steering wheel can be turned on and off with a simple button press—either directly on the wheel or via the stereo. If your Transporter has a digital dash, you’ll also see a steering wheel heating icon pop up at the bottom of the display, along with an on-screen message confirming activation.

This isn’t the cheapest upgrade—costing over £1k—but for comfort and convenience in freezing weather, it’s a game-changer! ❄️🔥
