Obviously with the majority of factory fitted speakers the quality isn't great and the Vw Transporter is no exception to this. Should you wish to improve it there are various options available, from simply upgrading the door speakers and adding/upgrading the tweeters to amplifying the component speaker system or complete audio upgrade projects. We have it covered. For now we'll suggest one of the easier options to improve audio quality in your van... or should we say "in your car ";)

The solution are Pioneer TS-H1703 Component Door Speakers plus we'll add 2mm silent coat sound deadening exactly where it's needed 

The Pioneer TS-H1703 Component Speakers kit is a complete setup for the front of the van. Firstly mid woofers that'll fit the driver/passenger doors, tweeters for higher frequencies and crossovers to ensure the correct frequencies are going to the correct speaker. Factory locations will be used for your new speakers obviously doors are one of them and for tweeters it'll either be the dash board top corners on Transporter t5 and the A-pillars on newer T6. 

2mm silent coat sound deadening, what does this do? It takes the every day vibrations and converts them into low level heat so you can have the volume that bit louder without hearing door panels vibrating etc. On the T5 and T6, once we get factory speakers out, we are able to cover approx 50% of outer door skin with 2mm silent cote, and two sheets can be applied onto the inner panel that the speaker is mounted to. The price quoted here includes three sheets of 2mm Sound Deadening from Silent coat. If you wish to upgrade to Dynamat or add more than the quoted amount please let us know and we will be happy to fit it for you.

One last thing we should mention is the limitations of the factory VW Head unit. There's a massive improvement in changing the OEM VW radio for an aftermarket unit such as a Kenwood, Pioneer or Alpine. The OEM head units are not brilliant when it comes to sound quality.
