VW T6 Rear Optical Parking Sensors provide a visual display of the Vehicle on the radio or navigation system screen, showing the vehicles position and distance from obstacles. The location of any obstacle within range of the ultrasonic sensors is highlighted on screen. The optical rear parking sensors will mute your Radio helping you to focus on parking.

If your Volkswagen Transporter T6 does have an Aftermarket Multimedia or Navigation Fitted, we may need to fit a CAN interface that will work with your radio, steering wheel controls and provides an optical display for parking sensors, cost may very. In many cases the audio fitter will choose to fit a cheaper interface and unfortunately the only way to get the OPS on the Multimedia screen is by replacing the basic CAN interface with one that's more suitable.

The rear Optical Parking Sensors will activate with reverse gear engagement and deactivate when you deselect reverse gear.  With rear OPS reversing sensors, there's no need for the fitting of an extra PDC button due to the system operating via seeing a CAN signal when reverse gear is engaged.

You can mute the acoustic signals of the VW optical parking system by pressing the MUTE button on the radio screen or navigation system. The mute function will be cancelled if the OPS is Switched off and on again.

The rear OPS parking sensors will work in conjunction with a Rear view OEM VW Camera, If you have both fitted, selecting reverse gear will switch both the camera and parking sensors on. An overlay of the optical sensors will normally  be displayed on the left hand side of the screen. This may work differently with an aftermarket Navigation, however in general most of the later Multimedia/ Navigation System will either display both the camera and parking sensors or give you the option to switch between the two.
